Myers Briggs Type Indicator

Ever since I found out about the Myers Briggs tests, I have always been fascinated by it. When Steve and I were in pre-marital counseling (2000), we had to take this test to see how our personalities fit together. To no surprise to us, we are complete opposites. At the time, I was ISFJ (Introverted, Sensitive, Feeling, and Judging) and Steve was ENTP (Extroverted, Intuitive, Thinking and Perceiving).

But when I went to work at Meridian Technology Center, they had me take a much more detailed exam. And my personality had actually changed, and quite a bit. I became an ENFJ (Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling and Judging) in two years. But the E (Extroverted) and (Judging) were very minor-almost equaled out on the exam.

So, when I came across this book at Savers, I couldn't pass it up. "Do What You Are--Discover the Perfect Career for You Through the Secrets of Personality Type."

I decided I should probably take the test again, since my results were so dramatically different in 2000 vs. 2002. So, there was a free one here, and it says I am INFP (Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling and Perceiving).



This reading will keep me busy for the rest of the day since I do want to try and figure out if I can narrow down a new career field. This is the perfect time to figure it out since I have a lot of free time. 

If you've never taken the Myers-Briggs test, I highly recommend it. It's very informative, and helps you understand yourself a little better. And when you meet people who have also taken the test, it's really fun to see why you are most likely to like or dislike them. It really helped me understand a few of my bosses over the years.

A day of enjoyment before going back to work

I decided I should do some fun things today, since it is my last day of not working full-time. I enjoyed a pedicure, which was very nicely done. I prefer going to a hair salon to get my nails done, but most of them were closed today. So, I ended up at a nail salon. I always worry about the cleanliness of those salons, but I went anyways. Afterwards, I went to Goodwill and found a few more things that I can wear to work. Since the boss seems to be concerned about her employees dressing 'too casual,' I decided I should invest in a few dressier looking outfits, because I totally was super relaxed at Tackle Marketing. I was wearing flip flops, t-shirts and capris a lot during the Summer. I found a couple of really adorable dresses. Day 15 - Time to Learn!

But first, I did some SPRING CLEANING! I was drinking my morning tea in bed, looking at how unorganized my closets were in the bedroom. Staring at the piles of sheets thrown into the top of my closet shelf made me feel uneasy. So, since I had no set plans for this morning, I just started organizing. There are many pins out there stating you should "use your pillow cases to keep your sheets neat and orderly". Of course, I don't even want to bother with learning how 'easy' it is to fold fitted sheets. That might be the case if you are patient, which I am not. So, I stuffed my sheets in various pillow cases. Then, I decided I would utilize the shelves where I have millions of Steve's hats sitting that never get worn, and a few pairs of shoes. The shelves will be a lot more user friendly, and the sheets will be much easier to access. For now, I can place all my boots up top since I won't be wearing those again until winter. Day 18 - First Unemployment Paycheck!

It was nice to see that I received my first unemployment check deposit yesterday. I was certain I probably missed the deadline to post my jobs search information after I went to the meeting last Friday, but luckily I made it! Yay! I went to the farm, which was pretty cool. Michelle was very busy, which was to be expected. It was fun to take see what goes into having a pasta sauce and pasta company. Too much work for me, personally! I don't think I would want all that responsibility. I also stopped by a cemetery on the way back home. It was pretty cool. The old cemeteries don't fascinate me as much as they used to, but I do enjoy walking around for a few minutes.  The rest of the day, I took a couple of walks and read my book. I also applied for about 4 other jobs.
