Day 30 - Cleaning and waiting...

All weekend, I couldn't help and hope that Emerson Ecologics will want to interview me as soon as possible. But here it is, almost 11 am. I have not heard a peep. So, I decided I should not wait for the phone to ring any longer. Go about what I need to do, apply to more jobs and move forward...

The thing about job hunting is, you can't get too caught up on one particular job. You may think it's your dream job, and that you're a perfect fit. But the company that's hiring may not think so. More often than not, there are other candidates that have more experience than you, and they end up getting the position. So, I am putting feelers out in every direction. But I am not sure that is the best practice either.

On Friday, I heard back from the Concord job. Things didn't go as planned for who he had hoped to hire for the operations manager position. So, he has to start interviewing for that position again. He thinks he has to hire a designer and this operations manager at the same time. If he thinks that is all going to fall into place for him, he's crazy. Either one or the other is going to find a better opportunity before he can have them at the same time. And that's exactly what happened. The person he wanted to hire found something better. And hopefully, I will too!

I know I need some guidance in this whole job hunt too, so I sent an email to my employment assistance rep from the unemployment office. I hope she can help me figure out the best way to approach this whole job hunt. And maybe even assist me in trying to get a job in a different field of work. I would love to work with animals!

A day of enjoyment before going back to work

I decided I should do some fun things today, since it is my last day of not working full-time. I enjoyed a pedicure, which was very nicely done. I prefer going to a hair salon to get my nails done, but most of them were closed today. So, I ended up at a nail salon. I always worry about the cleanliness of those salons, but I went anyways. Afterwards, I went to Goodwill and found a few more things that I can wear to work. Since the boss seems to be concerned about her employees dressing 'too casual,' I decided I should invest in a few dressier looking outfits, because I totally was super relaxed at Tackle Marketing. I was wearing flip flops, t-shirts and capris a lot during the Summer. I found a couple of really adorable dresses. Day 15 - Time to Learn!

But first, I did some SPRING CLEANING! I was drinking my morning tea in bed, looking at how unorganized my closets were in the bedroom. Staring at the piles of sheets thrown into the top of my closet shelf made me feel uneasy. So, since I had no set plans for this morning, I just started organizing. There are many pins out there stating you should "use your pillow cases to keep your sheets neat and orderly". Of course, I don't even want to bother with learning how 'easy' it is to fold fitted sheets. That might be the case if you are patient, which I am not. So, I stuffed my sheets in various pillow cases. Then, I decided I would utilize the shelves where I have millions of Steve's hats sitting that never get worn, and a few pairs of shoes. The shelves will be a lot more user friendly, and the sheets will be much easier to access. For now, I can place all my boots up top since I won't be wearing those again until winter. Day 18 - First Unemployment Paycheck!

It was nice to see that I received my first unemployment check deposit yesterday. I was certain I probably missed the deadline to post my jobs search information after I went to the meeting last Friday, but luckily I made it! Yay! I went to the farm, which was pretty cool. Michelle was very busy, which was to be expected. It was fun to take see what goes into having a pasta sauce and pasta company. Too much work for me, personally! I don't think I would want all that responsibility. I also stopped by a cemetery on the way back home. It was pretty cool. The old cemeteries don't fascinate me as much as they used to, but I do enjoy walking around for a few minutes.  The rest of the day, I took a couple of walks and read my book. I also applied for about 4 other jobs.
