having few wants

"Wealth consists not of having great possessions but in having few wants."
Esther De Waal, Seeking God: The way of St. Benedict

No electricity. It happens to us all. However, instead of moping around dreaming of the internet, television, even water, I try to think about how thankful I am to even have these things to even miss.

The world is filled with hungry, cold, dirty and thirsty people. People who have never seen a television, a washer and dryer, even a water fountain (of course we rarely see these ourselves these day-most buildings have shut them off if not completely removed them).

Times like these make me appreciate all that I have - even having the convenience to miss the luxury of it all.

Even more so, I am grateful for whomever invented the generator.

This wonderful invention allows me to have water, heat and light when my power has gone out.

So I will make due with what I have and count my blessings.
